This Middle Eastern, large antique brass tray table top is hand engraved with tons of beautiful Middle Eastern script, animal and people figures as well as ornate engravings of tear drops encompassing flowers at the outer circumference. The inner circle displays 6 Arab figures. The detail in this table top is incredible! See pictures for other details.
There are slight imperfections commensurate with age; however, this table was always stored and never used so it has no usage scratches. There are no breaks, holes or dents as pictured. This tray measures 31 1/4" in diameter and is approximately 1" deep. This tray would be a unique Conversation Piece and a beautiful addition to any home because of the following history: My father bought this tray table from an antiquities dealer in Cairo, Egypt in 1971 on a World Trade Mission Trip to the Middle East. He met with dignitaries Anwar Sadat and King Faisal of Saudi Arabia who directed my father to the Antiquities dealer where he bought the table. The legs were bought with the tray and are hand carved out of mahogany. It features three camel heads, three humps and three legs.
The detail in the legs is also incredible and the wood is beautiful and carved with exquisite lines! What a wonderful piece this would be to add to your Middle eastern collection!
