Antique Ottoman Kurdish Islamic Dagger Damascus Steel Wootz Jambiya to sword. Antique 19th century Turkish Ottoman (Kurdish) Islamic dagger Hanceri Jambiya- Khanjar with deeply curved tapering double-edged blade with medial ridge made of extremely fine quality Damascus steel Wootz, mounted in a characteristic one-piece mahogany wood grip , pommel adorned with round onyx stone in filigree setting. The dagger is in its original silver scabbard with wood insert repoussee and chased in scrolling foliage, the locket fitted with two small suspension loops. CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, scabbard with some dents. Please see the pictures in the listing since they are part of the description of the condition of the object. Overall length of the dagger sheathed in the scabbard: 34 cm (13.39 inches) Overall length without the scabbard: 33.5 cm 13.98 inches.
