Antique/Vintage Persian Silver Hand Made Vase with Water Birds & Arabic Marks

A highly decorative Persian small silver vase with detailed chased design. It features wading birds and a four legged creature which looks like a cross between a rabbit and a fox! Surrounding the animals are traditional Persian designs chased into the silver, but not as deeply set. The vase body is of slightly baluster form with a pulled in neck and everted rim, the neck upwards has been left plain silver. The neck and rim still show the tell tale hints of being hand beaten using a hammer.

It is marked to the base for 84% silver in script and there is a further Arabic mark which I can't quite make out but probably reads'silver'. Date wise it is likely from the early 20th century.

A beautifully crafted piece and of good gauge. Good for period, minor wear, no significant faults.
