Exceptional Qajar Lacquered Paper Mâché Book Cover-Persian/Islamic/Middle East

This is a superb mid 19th century lacquered paper mâché book cover with paintings and gold decorations on both sides. On the outer side of the cover there is a traditional Persian depiction of "Gol o Bolbol" or Flower & Nightingale in exceptional detail surrounded by floral decorations in gold and other colors. On the other side there is a miniature painting of a European girl with a bird, and gilded floral designs. SIZE: About 5 7/16" X 8 3/4".
