EXTREMELY RARE ANTIQUE PERSIAN QAJAR ISLAMIC SILVER INLAID BRASS BOWL C1880's
The bowl dates from late 1800's during the Qajar era. The reason that is is such a rare piece, is that the brass bowl has also been inlaid with silver. Brass ware inlaid with silver was very common to see in Islamic works of ark from Syria or Egypt or even sometimes Ottoman pieces. However it is very very rare to find pieces from the Qajar era in Persia which were silver inlaid. This makes the piece a very desirable addition to any collection is Islamic metalwares. If you look at all the photos below, you can see there is two different styles of calligraphy. One of the styles, which actually happens to be my favourite is the Nasta'liq calligraphy. There are also hand chased scenes with kings and animals etc. Please look at all the photos carefully to fully appreciate the true quality of this magnificent and very rare bowl. The diameter of the bowl is 25.6cm = 10.1 inches. The height of the bowl is 12.2cm = 4.8. The bowl is in excellent condition. However a few very very small minor dings.
Some losses to silver inlay in places. Condition is consistent with age. Please see the photos shown below. The item "EXTREMELY RARE ANTIQUE PERSIAN QAJAR ISLAMIC SILVER INLAID BRASS BOWL C1880's" is in sale since Sunday, November 06, 2016.
