Hugo Newman was born in New York City in the 1880s and was actively painting until the late 1930s, he exhibited in 1918 at the Whitney Museum of American Art in Manhattan NY, also the Society of Independent Artists and Salons of America in NYC in the early 1920s. The painting is very well executed and is in excellent original condition, no damage or in painting or other concerns, it is signed & dated lower left Hugo R.

The painting is housed in the original gilded wooden frame and measures ; 27" (69cm) x 23" (58cm).
