Firstly please look at the pictures closely to understand what you are looking at! An Incredibly Fine Hand Hammered Mamluk Revival PIERCED Brass Mosque Lamp With Arabic Calligraphic Cartouches & Sublime Geometric Patterns Surrounded By Arabesques and Mamluk Motifs. Early 1800's Damascus or Cairo.

Please understand the beauty of this lamp. The calligraphy is so difficult to just about write by hand in ink so you can imagine how difficult it would to be to hand hammer this pierce-work calligraphy. On top of that the geometric designs and Islamic & mamluk motifs are themselves not to be outshone. A truly magnificent example of Islamic metalwork from the early 1800's.
