Awesome Massive example of the Turkish PALA or KILIJ battle saber dating from around mid 18th to 19th century, in its extensive silver mounts bearing countless hallmarks throughout each mount even the suspension rings, with Huge grips of desirable material in the traditional form having massive bulbous pommel, large silver cross-guard also hallmarked on both sides. Wearing a very large broad deeply curved blade of fine Black Wootz damascus steel, showing nice dark patina throughout with some heavy oxidation and pitting to the large Yelman tip area. Solid and overall intact on this Spectacular and truly Massive saber. The lower part of the scabbard has a bullet hole obviously obtained during battle while the sword was drawn for combat.
