FINE ANTIQUE TURKISH MIDDLE EAST OTTOMAN GILT BRONZE PRAYER INSCRIBED JAR VASE. Hello, thank you for having a look at my auctions. Although I was a little down and out over the summer I still managed to acquire some incredible and important treasures for my first sale of the fall season. This sale offers a wide variety of great examples from across many categories of collecting. The items include some exceptionally rare and important examples including some imperial wares, and items dating from the Song dynasty to the earlier Republic period. This sale features items from three important estate collections including the late Chinese ceramics expert Michael Vermeers collection, Mr. H Pao of Toronto who owned a high-end shop in the famous four seasons hotel in Toronto for many years and whom was considered one of North Americas top experts and scholars in many categories of antique Chinese art. Also some of the smaller scholarly items including the jade examples are from the estate of A Abraham. Abraham owned the Imperial Jade Shop situated in the famous King Edward hotel until the year 1976 (40 years ago) when the hotel was renovated and the shop never re-opened. These items have been in storage since the shop closed down and have not seen the light of day until now!

Abraham was a highly respected jade dealer, appraiser, and collector in the 1950-70s period. I do not know a great deal about many of the objects myself. Being out of this known experts estate I believe there is a good chance there are some important and rarely found examples being offered.

I do wish everyone the very best of luck winning the auctions! This vase is an interesting example that is completely hand made. The vase is intricately carved throughout. The vase shows some good and legitimate early age and I believe would date to the 19th century or possibly even earlier. The vase could use a light cleaning and has some light marks but is overall in substantially fine condition as seen.

The vase measures 8 inches wide, by 6 5/8 inches tall. Such fine antique examples are becoming exceedingly hard to find.
