1800's antique kabyle algerian flyssa (flissa) dagger - Algeria. The flyssa or flissa is the traditional dagger knife from the famous tribe called Kabyles, living in Algeria.

This flissa is of high quality. The hilt is wood covered with brass with traditional dog head or chimera head. The blade is well forged with brass decoration inlaid. The top of the scabbard has a slot (see the last picture).

The top iron collar of the scabbard is not holding correctly. The bottom of the scabbard is a bit damaged (see the picture 11). Total length with scabbard 47cm (18 1/2" inches) Length without scabbard 45cm (17 3/4" inches) Blade length 35cm (13 3/4 inches) Weight with scabbard 366gr (12,9oz).
