This is a group of four hand painted Persian playing cards from the second half of the 19th century. Three of the cards seem to belong to the same set. The first one depicts a young Persian king sitting on a throne, in an emerald green background. The second one shows a young boy musketeer in a gold background holding his hat. The third one also shows a musketeer surrounded by a military band playing flute and drum.

Finally, the last card, which seems to be from a different set, depicts a lady on a horse with two soldiers on her sides, each holding a sword. The last card is very slightly larger than the other three, and also has a more detailed floral decoration on the margins.
