A fine long Berber (Algerian) flissa sword (yatagan shape) - Algeria 19th cent. Both sides, the blade is engraved. Traditional handle figuring a chimera head. The handle is made of wood covered with brass sheet in repoussé.

Scabbard made of carved wood. A dammage at the scabbard (see the last picture).

The wood of the scabbard was anciently attacked by wood boring insects but it was treated. Total length 91,5cm (36). Length without scabbard 87,5cm (34 1/2).
