Arab metalwork - dating from the first half of the 20th century. Skilfully hand constructed from white and yellow brass - this example of high quality. The yellow brass dallah is of waisted form, incorporating a scrolling and enclosed spout. The heavy gauge handle incorporates a forked mounting at the upper extreme and also incorporates the cover hinge fulcrum.
A'rams horn' hinge strap is securely mounted at the face of the enclosed cover. An ornate, heavy gauge, finial passes through a tapering white brass ferrule and cover faces - the finial locked in positioned by a threaded coupling and corresponding nut. Internally, the vessel is fully tinned. The vessel is slightly heat blackened to the base - consistent with usage.
Overall height - 9 1/2 (242mm). Total weight - 1,016 grams.
