A Sudanese Kaskara sword - Sudan, 19th, early 20th century. The blade is thin and flexible.
A fine double edged straight blade, engraved both sides. Grip is made of wood covered with leather. Scabbard is made of wood covered with leather and 2 iron rings. The blade is bent (see the last picture).The guard has an important movement. The leather covering the wooden grip is damaged and not tight.
The circual pommel was broken and glued. Blade length 81,5cm (31 3/4). Weight without scabbard 825gr (29,1oz).
