The beautiful patina of this item is perfect... Not so thick as to cover the beauty of the bronze but enough to emphasise the true age and authenticity of this piece of ancient art. This item measures over 9 inches in height and almost a full 12 inches long. Believed to be 200+ years old, this item was recently unearthed in Ghazni province of South East Afghanistan. This incredibly Beautiful ancient Bronze oil lamp was certainly once owned by a very wealthy individual or even used in an area such as a mosque for both its beauty and light.

The craftsmanship and uniqueness of this piece would have certainly put this item out of the financial reach of the regular citizen of the day. This Griffin Headed oil lamp is truly a piece of artwork that will stand out in any setting. Specialized Bronze artisans produced items such century's ago as they were. Already well-versed in the bronze casting process both by mold and wax as an integral part of their artistic production in bronze. And in the military since 1976!!
