Antique Ethiopian gurade sword with very interesting handle 19th

Antique Ethiopian gurade (shotel) sword with very interesting handle - 19th. Beautiful (and in great condition) double edged straight blade signed with the Lion of Judah and G. The blade is very probably from Solingen in Germany.

Both sides of the blade, fullers are engraved with foliage decoration. Traditional translucent material (not wood). Unfortunately, the pommel has damage.

Scabbard is wood covered with strong decorated leather. The whole thing is strong and solid.

Length with scabbard 94cm (37 in). Length without scabbard 92,5cm (36 1/2 in). Blade length 80cm (311/2 in). Weight with scabbard 1113gr (39,26 oz). Weight without scabbard 851gr (30 oz).
