ANTIQUE ETHNIC SILVER ANKLET PAIR EGYPT YEMEN SUDAN RASHAIDA BEDOUIN khalakhil1

Hollow chased anklets of silver sheets decorated with polyhedral pommels. These type of anklets have slight variations in size, bend and color, combined with the uniqueness of decoration gives each piece a significance of its own. Most anklets of this kind were found in the Halaib area along the Egypt/Sudanese border. This pair shows reminiscence of wax with which it was apparently partly stuffed and has nice patina.

The body is engraved with alignments of chevrons and crescents. Ornaments on pictures are not polished.
