Antique Islamic Persian Ottoman Vessel Bowl Quranic Verse Hand Chased 7.5D/5H
Late 19th/early 20th century antique Islamic Persian Middle Eastern Ottoman brass bowl/vessel. This slightly bulbous bowl has been hand chased incorporating calligraphic Quranic Arabic verse panels with magnificent creatures, floral motifs and lattice. Piece is an extremely decorative work of art that would be an exceptional addition to any Middle Eastern or Islamic collection. (measured top rim to top rim): 7.5 H.
The circular looking patch (as seen in the bottom inside and on the bottom outside of the bowl--photographs #10, #11 and #12) is not a repair. It is where the lathe had been inserted to turn the bowl (seen as concentric lines--photographs #11 and #12). When finished, the lathe would have been removed, the hole would have been filled/patched resulting in a finished vessel. The vessel is in fine antique condition with no cracks or repairs to note.
