Belt buckle - Probably Balkan region, circa 1870. Classic form with polished bronze a base metal - fully covered with an elaborate, applied solid-silver wire work in filigree technique and inset with semi-precious stones (looks like emeralds and rubies) - the 2 parts are locked together with a long pin attached to a chain. Superb and precise craftsmanship, very attractive and appealing.
