Antique Middle Eastern / Balkan Gun Powder Flask date unknown 19th century? The design of the flask is reportedly Moroccan, but the crosses on both sides suggests it might be Balkan, but I haven't seen other examples of Balkan powered flasks that are similar. Then again, the crosses might be purely decorative without symbolism.
The flask is very heavy duty, heavier than other flasks I have. The flask is 8 1/2 inches long. There are a few issues. The nozzle is loose and wriggles; it won't fall off, but it needs to be soldered by a professional restorer. One ear holding the sling rings is bent and probably easily fixed.
The flask may be plated silver, but considerably tarnished and evidence of rust on the rings, nozzle and other parts. But the original powder measure cap is with the flask, currently attached with a leather strap I added, which I neglected to remove before photographing the flask, so it's part of the deal now.
