Antique Middle Eastern Islamic Enrique Linares Alhambra Granada Archway Window

This is a beautiful antique Middle Eastern Islamic Alhambra Palace window, No. The outer frame measures 14 3/4 inches wide by 15 inches tall (34.5 cm x 38.1 cm). The plaque measures 11 7/8 inches wide by 12 1/8 inches tall (30.2 cm x 30.8 cm). The plaque is a plaster or gesso hand carved scale model of one of the windows at the Alhambra Palace in Spain.

It is painted in gilt and polychrome. In the bottom right corner and No. 3 in the bottom left corner. There is a large chip on the left side in the center and a thin chip on the right side in the center. It looks like someone put some gold paint on the left side chip.

There are 2 hairline cracks on it on the bottom left and right side corners around the middle of the green, blue, yellow and white tile-looking area. It also has a tiny chip in the bottom right corner on the green strip where it meets the frame. There is a tiny hairline going through the r in Linares, and a few other tiny nicks nearby that. Along the bottom on the left side near No. 3 there are some tiny nicks and some staining.

There is also staining along the rest of the bottom of the white area. The scene in the background of mountains and villages looks like it was touched up with some green paint many years ago. There is some dirt on the area just behind the windows along the bottom.

Overall, this piece is in what I would consider to be pretty good condition. The colors are rich and vibrant and the detail is just exquisite. It's a real work of art and a very lovely piece.
