ANTIQUE QALAMDAN LACQUER PEN CASE BOX WITH ORIGINAL INK WELL, SCISSORS, BOOKMARK

ANTIQUE PERSIAN QALAMDAN LACQUER PEN CASE BOX MACHE, with original writing instruments. Box is a beautiful paper mache in black, with hand painted gold gilt vines and flowers.

Measures 8.5" x 1.5" x 1.5 (21.6cm x 6.35cm x 6.35cm). No adverse issues, other than minor rubs to finish, mostly being on the bottom of the box. Includes original pair of exquisite silver paper scissors, a small silver bookmark, a straight-edge made of horn, a reed writing pen, and a silver ink well with attached lid. The case is complete, with no damage. The pieces slide together with a tight fit, as if it has not seen much use. The ink well, bookmark, and scissors were tested for their metal content on a jewelers stone, and all possess high silver content. The scissors are marked as shown.

None of the silver has been polished, and it is in as-found condition. Circa 19th to early 20th century. Boxes such as this are plentiful, but rarely do they possess their original contents.
