Very fine Ottoman Kard dagger of rare workmanship having iron mounts heavily inlaid with two-tone Gold Koftgari work further with cut in canals to the side straps of the grip having inserted fine damascus beads freely moving inside, such decoration is called "Tears of the Wounded" and is quite rare being seldom met on the blades but even more uncommon to be inside the hilt of the weapon. Beautiful eared grips of traditional form, showing lovely dark patina and age lines typical of this fine material. Wearing a very elegant straight single edged blade of very fine and active Wootz steel, featuring a lovely armor piercing tip and showing fine watered patterns throughout with a touch of light gray patina.
Solid and intact overall on this Rare Ottoman weapon, comes with a later dark blue fabric over wood scabbard specifically built for this dagger and complimenting it very well having gold accented lace trimming. Overall 14 1/4 in scabbard.
