17/18th Century Ottoman Iron & Brass Lead Scoop. This is a rare Ottoman Turkish wrought iron & brass folding lead scoop, circa 17th / 18th century.

Used for melting lead for bullet making. The entire handle is decorated with geometric designs & brass inlay. In 3 sections with sliding iron hoops that lock the handle rigidly in place. A similar example can be seen in the Topkapi Palace armory hall, Istanbul. CONDITION with wear & oxidation. The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
