For sale this stunning antique Persian solid silver box. The box has been hand chased with an extremely design, by one of the most famous Persian silversmiths. The box was chased by Rabei. Rabei was one of the best in his field. His chiselling and engraving was one of the best at his time.
Rabei used to make pieces for the Royal Family including the Shah of Iran too. The lid has been hand chased with an extremely fine medallion in the centre. There is magnificent foliage chased to perfection. There are also the heads of mythical beasts incorporated into the design.
The four sides of the box have been completed with a similar design. Even the base has a band of hand chased flowers going around it. The box has been tested and is guaranteed to be high grade solid silver. It has hallmarked with the numbers "84" in Persian, which represent the purity of the silver. There is a mark for "Isfahan" which is the city it was made in. Finally there is a hallmark for Rabei's name. The length of the box 15.3cm The width of the box is 8.3cm The height of the box is 2.8cm The box weighs an impressive 311.6 grams. It is in excellent condition. Please see all photos abov.
