Fine Islamic Persian or Turkish Silver Mounted Damascus SHASHKA Sword (shamshir). Please Check back regularly for new listings of quality weapons. Beautiful and unusual example of the Middle Eastern Shashka saber, most likely owned by a Persian or Turkish warrior in the early to mid 19th century, featuring fine heavy silver mounts with chiseled floral ornaments throughout, the drag of the scabbard is a large iron sleeve with black lacquer finish, with its original thick leather finely stitched on the back. Mounted with a very elegant and exceptionally well balance quick and deadly blade having very light curvature to its length, blade exhibits very active damascus steel patterns throughout with nice light gray patina, one spot with a very fine period repair done with the most skill to fully preserve the battle-worthy qualities of this fine blade. Solid and overall intact on this lovely and rare Islamic warrior's weapon of seldom encountered pattern and style of decorations.
