Fine Vintage Argentinian Silver Yerba Mate Cup With A Silver And 18k Gold Straw

Up for sale is this fine vintage silver Yerba Mate cup from Argentina, from 20th century. This beautiful Yerba Mate gourd is marked 925 silver and comes with a 800 silver straw -bombilla decorated with 18K yellow gold mouth piece and yellow gold accents.

The strainer part of the bombilla is marked "Industria Argentina 800". The globular shape gourd is based on three applied peacocks, supported on a circular base. A Bombilla is an essential tool in the consumption of mate infusions. Acting as both a straw and sieve, it filters out the herbs and powders in the drinking process. Condition: in great condition for its age, silver has some dark patina.

Hallmarked 92.5 for silver. Height: ca 10 / 22.5cm. Width: ca 4.25/ 11cm. The straw is 7 3/4 / 19.5cm long.
