For sale is this breathtakingly beautiful antique Persian solid silver large fruit bowl. It has a beautifully formed, very elegant shape. This is without a doubt, one of the finest bowls I have listed of this type. It has been beautifully hand chased with very crisp, clean work of the finest quality.
The maker of the bowl is very important. The bowl had been hand chased by Bagher Parvaresh. Bagher along with his brother Hossein were very well known silversmiths.
Bagher's work is much finer in quality than that of his brother Hossein. Bagher Parvaresh had made pieces especially for the Shah and his family.
So you can imagine how important he was if he was making specially commissioned pieces for the King of his country. He also used to work on pieces specially commissioned for government officials and other pieces which were gifted to foreign diplomats. There are beautiful circular medallions and large dominant flowers and leaves scrolling all over the bowl.This is one of the most detailed bowls ever. It is extremely detailed and all completed to the highest standards. I simply cannot stress how beautiful this tray really is. You can only appreciate the quality once you hold it in your own hand and see it with your own eyes. It has been tested and is guaranteed to be solid silver of high purity 875 grade.
It has been hallmarked with the numbers 84 and also have been hallmarked with the maker's name - BAGHER PARVARESH. The 84 hallmark represents silver purity of 87.5%.
It was introduced into Persia by the Soviet Union (Russians) in the early 1900's. The height of the bowl is 12.5cm.
The diameter of the bowl is 33cm. It weighs a very impressive 1376.9 grams.
That is over 1.3KG of silver!
