Genuine 16th-17th C Persian Manuscript Folio-Islamic/Turkish/Mughal/Indian
A very beautiful Persian manuscript folio with handwritten calligraphy in Nasta'liq style, and 3 gilded cartouches with multi-color floral decorations and text. The folio was taken from a 16th or early 17th century Safavid copy of Sa'di's masterpiece, Bustan (Orchard), completed in 1257. The quality of the paper (its thickness, and the smoothness of the surface), the calligraphy, and the decorations, indicate that the manuscript that this folio was taken form was of high quality, probably commissioned by a wealthy person or a high ranking official.
