The silver overlay has been hand chased back to the Copper with great skill to form the design of roses, urns and fleur de lis. The shading on the leaves etc is delicately formed by carefully cutting back with a fine touch. I have not seen this design before on this type of ware but it certainly indicates to me that it is the work of a master Middle Eastern craftsman.
