Truly magnificent, one of a kind museum quality masterpiece of Islamic art, this aftaba ewer and ablution basin are made of heavy gauge brass, intricately carved and engraved, and heavily inlaid in silver. Late 1800's to very early 1900's Damascus, Syria cairo-ware work of stunning, exceptional quality rarely seen on the market. The lid on the top of the ewer is slightly off, could be period repair to the hinge. Apart from it, it is in very good antique condition, with all silver inlay intact, no dents or scratches.
