This is a beautiful example of Islamic North African pottery collected for the Victorian and Albert Museum in 1868. It is a bottle made by the Kabyle Berbers of the Djurdjura region of Algeria and decorated in a traditional geometric pattern in buff, black and red coloured slip. Measuring 11 tall it is good condition but does have a repair to the neck and slight chipping around the spout, along with a couple of spots of glaze loss. The original Museum accession number is painted on the inside of the spout.

It was number 45 out of 51 items collected for the museum at the time please see the final photo for a pot which is no.
