Large Antique Syrian Khatam Marquetry Inlay Jewelry Document Trinket Box

Intricate antique khatam marquetry box from Syria (1921) measures approximately 12 3/4" wide, 9" deep and 3 1/2 tall. Lacquer on top has darkened with age and is flecking off in spots. Bottom bottom missing chunks (see photos).
