Wearing a very large broad deeply curved blade of fine Black Wootz damascus steel, showing nice dark patina throughout with some heavy oxidation and pitting to the large Yelman tip area. Solid and overall intact on this Spectacular and truly Massive saber. The lower part of the scabbard has a bullet hole obviously obtained during battle while the sword was drawn for combat. One side of the scabbard throat lock bearing partially worn Museum inventory numbers in black ink.
