Monumental 24 x 14 Antique PERSIAN SILVER Hand Chased Repousse Vase c. 1920
Up for your consideration is a fine Persian hand-hammered silver vase, c. The vase is monumental and impressive in size and quality, measuring a full 24" in height and 14" at its widest point.
The base measures 5" in diameter and the vase has a collared opening that is 6.75" in diameter. The weight is just over 10 pounds. Exquisitely hand hammered into a finely detailed floral and foliate repousse pattern with vines and grapes, the vase is in excellent condition showing age-typical wear. The silver is bright and holds a clear and brilliant luster with some minor darkening/spotting to the patina.No dents, dings, prior repairs, or compromising imperfections are found. Wear is commensurate with age and history of use so please regard all of the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing. It is difficult to know the silver content and percentage/purity of Persian silver from this era as it varies by piece, though often it is around 30 - 40% in purity. We have been advised that considering the size and volume of the piece we are offering that the sterling content is believed to be in the range of 10-15%.
