Moroccan nimcha sword with blade signed ANDREA FERARA 17th 18th century

Moroccan nimcha sword with blade signed "ANDREA FERARA" - 17th 18th century Imported European blade from 17th or 18th century. One side of the blade is etched "ANDREA", the other side is signed "FERARA". Andrea Ferara is a very famous Italian swordsmith of mid 17th century. But his signature was very counterfeit during 17th and 18th century. The blade was anciently remounted on the handle (see picture 9).

It was probably done during the 19th century, first half 20th. Scabbard is made of wood covered with leather. Iron guard and wooden grip. Stong and solid, no movement.

The scabbard is in poor condition but still holding well. Length with scabbard 100cm (39 1/2).

Length without scabbard 97cm (38 1/4). Weight with scabbard 921gr (32,5oz). Weight without scabbard 773gr (27,26oz).
