NICE OLD ANTIQUE TURKISH OTTOMAN YATAGHAN SWORD NO SHAMSHIR RARE STRAIGHT BLADE

Being offered is a nice old antique Turkish Ottoman yataghan sword with a rare straight blade. This sword measures 25 in total length when measured in its scabbard. Lovely large eared handle with a fine yellowish patina.

One grip slab is cracked through but rivets still holding both pieces. The very decorative tang band has 4 stones remaining of differing colors. Quite a few stones are missing from the tang band so roughly 40-50% of the decorations from the tang band remain. The handle has some side to side wiggle indicating the tang may have rusted through and partially broken. The ferrule and forte of the blade with gilt decoration and some stones. A circular cartouche on each side of the blade with Arabic inscription. The blade is interesting in that it is straight.

The scabbard shows a lot of age. The wood core with metal mounts to the top and bottom of scabbard. The wood with very dark patina as does the metal.
