Pair Antique Late 19th C Ornate Floral Frames Middle East Prints 16 X 20 Opening

This is a beautiful pair of antique late 19th century ornate floral frames with their original Middle Eastern prints. Based on the frames, I would date them circa 1880s or 1890s. They have a great Aesthetic Movement sense about them. Overall, they each measure 21 5/8 inches x 25 3/8 inches (55 cm x 64.5 cm). The back opening sizes measure 16 inches x 20 inches (40.64 cm x 50.8 cm). The molding widths measure 3 inches (7.6). The frames are in remarkably good condition. Each has a chip in each of its corners, but other than these, there is only very light wear to them. They have those great old square cut nails.

The glass is also original to them and it is lightly wavy and lightly bubbled. As you can see in the photos, there is foxing to the prints and the matts. This was likely caused by the wood backings. Other than this, they're in good untouched condition. The frames have developed a beautiful old patina over the years.

Together they weigh 30 lbs. They have what I always look for in frames, that wonderful old world look!
