Pair of Bohemian Glass Persian Decanters with Portraits of Nasir Al-Din Shah Qajar

A matching pair of Bohemian glass decanters, decorated with portraits of Nasir al-Din shah Qajar, at various times throughout his reign. We believe they are Bohemian and mad e for the export to the Persian market, and are probably early 20th century, though possibly older.

They are very decorative and well detailed, with various engraved and etched designs, and with prolific hand painted enamel decoration in lilac-blue, yellow, gold decoration, as well as colourful vignettes of floral decoration as well as the intermediate portraits. They are very large and heavy, and each measure 22 inches in height, including the matching spiked stoppers. We have noticed the pylon like necks have been coloured red, as are the decorative borders of the vignettes 7 cartouche, though depending on the light, they seem to refract varying colours, daylight being more blue.

These are incredibly heavy and obviously somewhat fragile, and collection is most welcome, and if a purchaser has their own reliable courier, they are more than welcome to use it and we shall provide relevant details. Viewing & Collection Are Most Welcome.
