A PERSIAN QAJAR PERIOD IRON PLATE BATTALION SCENE An antique Persian iron plate gilded decorated with chasing and engraving. In the center, the plate is decorated with a scene with horsemen playing polo in front of the palace. The game of polo has been known in Persia since ancient times and is a traditional pictorial motive. The border of the plate is decorated with floral ornaments and car-touches with views of various architectural monuments.
