Rare Berber sword (sabre) from Southern Morocco - Morocco, 19th century. It is recognized that this kind of Berber sword comes from theish influence in the Sahara area at the beginning the 19th century. Scabbard is thin wood covered with decorated embossed leather. Single edged blade with one large central fuller. Strong and solid, no movement. A small restauration at the ox horn of the grip (see the last picture). The bottom of the leather of the scabbard is disjointed (see picture 10). Length with scabbard 97cm (38). Length without scabbard 84cm (33). Blade length 68m (26 3/4).
