Rare Complete Handwritten Torah Bible Scroll Deer Skin 250 Yrs Morocco

Parchment made from the whole hide rather than split, processed for writing on the hair-side only, and prepared with a mixture of salt, flour and mey afatzim [wasp residue/gall-nut water] resulting in the typical brown color of a Moroccan Torah Scroll; comprising 72 gevil sheets, total of 275 columns; written in 42 lines per column. Written in the Hebrew language according to the Sephardic square script and is approximately 150 - 250 years old. There are seven letters given special adornment by attaching 3 Crownlets called "Tagim" to them and another 6 letters by attaching one crown. The individual pieces of parchment sheets are sewn together using a thread called giddin which is made from the leg sinews of a kosher animal.

Occasional erasures with corrected text clearly written over, Some edge wear and small tears as expected from such an old scroll. Complete scrolls of this age are seldom seen in synagogues or available due to their age. The scroll considering its age is well preserved and in very good condition and will stay beautiful with care for centuries to come. Included with the scroll comes a pair of wooden handles.
