Islamic Moroccan 18th / 19th C. Glazed Pottery Inkwell Pen Stand. This is an extremely rare Moroccan glazed pottery inkwell & pen holder, circa 18th / 19th century. A similar example is illustrated in'Ceramics of the Islamic World' by Geza Fehervari p. The example in the Tareq Rajab Museum has a blue glaze & is missing its lid. The description relates the rarity of examples of this type of inkwell, very few are known to exist. CONDITION section missing to the end of the lid, a couple of chips to the pointed decorative elements on the rim - as per images. The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
