Rare Tuareg sword with a Solingen blade - Sahara area, 18th century. Single edged curved blade from Solingen in Germany. Both sides, the blade remains partially some traditional markings of crescent moons, stars and suns. Grip and guard are made of ox horn.
Scabbard is made of wood covered with leather. The leather at the bottom part of the scabbard is missing. The guard and hilt have an important movement. The ox horn of the hilt has some damages.Length without scabbard 102cm (40 1/4 in). Blade length 84,5cm (33 1/4 in). Weight without 743gr (26,21oz).
