Royal rajput Sikh silver damascened tegha sword old pattern blade no wootz blade

Up for sale very fantastic, rare & collectibles mughal Indo-Persian rajput Sikh Maratha sword late mughal era northern India sword form punjab area. The blade is old Damascus pattern blade. It's sekela blade but not wootz steel. Blade is in original condition with pitting & patina probably a high quality fighting blade dating from the nineteenth century. Single edge blade, and little rust can been seen on blade or sword hilt.

Sword handle has fine silver mughal koftgari work with knuckle guard. Back side has sun-rise flower design.

The work almost alive on it. Cover made from wood and green velvet. The grip would comfortably fit a full, but smaller hand than today's average hand size. A very good piece for beginner's collection.
