SUPER QUALITY ANTIQUE SYRIAN MAMLUK REVIVAL BOWL ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY UNIQUE 1900. Wonderful, antique Syrian, Islamic, Mamluk revival Damascened bowl - circa 1900. The base metal is brass - it is superbly hand-decorated with inlayed silver and red copper.

The application is generous and bold creating'medallions' containing beautiful Arabic calligraphy and other medallions with red-copper ground and silver overlay - bands of'woven' rope in silver and detailed leaves complete the high quality decor. Workmanship is superb, highly detailed and of the top standard for this type. Condition is excellent - we carefully hand polished the silver which was dark and there are no losses or restorations - small marks on the top rim as pictured - it can be polished more to get all the silver out - please view detailed pictures. It measures 13 cm in diameter x 8 cm tall - weight is 402.6 grams.
