Superb Caucasian qama (kindjal) sword with maker's mark - Caucasus 1811 or 1908. Double edged blade with asymmetrical fullers.
On one side of the blade is etched the maker's mark with the date 27. Maker's name is "OMAR" and the date means 1227 or 1327 of the Hegire calendar (corresponding to 1811 or 1908). The grip is ornemented with a silver wire.Strong and solid, no movement. A small dammage to the grip plate made of ox horn (see the last picture). Length 56,5cm (22 1/4 in). Blade length 42,5cm (16 3/4 in).
