Please find for offer a very fine lacquered, papier-mache pen box with rounded ends and sliding tray, painted with scenes on all sides, the top panel depicting a portrait of a ruler? The sides depict a lion hunt and the other side nude bathing females. Great quality and fine attention to detail, the box dating to circa 1800. There are numerous small touch-ins on the painting, otherwise great.
