Vintage Large Turkish Copper Hand Made Hanging Lantern Foliate Design

A vintage large Turkish copper hanging lantern. It is hand made and of panelled design with foliate shapes and inverted turned knops.

It hangs from three chains to the chimney and could be used with candles or incense. There isn't a flat surface to the interior so you will need a dish/saucer use it. The side panel opens for access to the interior. The exterior has been kept reasonably polished, while the interior has the natural patina developed over the years. This example likely dates to the 3rd quarter of the 20th century.

Please note the hanging brass hook holding it up is not included. Normal wear and ageing, hand made so difficult to distinguish any knocks as later or from construction. Some of the finials are a little loose and the securing nuts are rusted. Looks just the part when hanging as you can see. Height: 47 cm (18 1/2 inch) excluding hanging chains.
