WORLD CLASS ANTIQUE 18th CENTURY INDO-PERSIAN HAND CHASED COPPER BOWL. For sale we have this breathtaking and extremely fine large antique Indo-Persian bowl. The bowl is made from copper and was also tinned when originally made.
However due to its age, the tin plating has worn off, there is very small areas of tin still visible around the base of the bowl. This bowl dates from 18th century. It has strong Safavid influences. The very fine repeating foliage all over the body of the bowl is identical to examples found on Safavid bowls. The calligraphy around the neck of the bowl is also similar to examples seen on Safavid bowls.This is a very very fine example of Islamic copper bowl dating from 1700's. It is a very elegant and very decorative item. The diameter of the bowl is 34cm = 13.4 inches.
The height of the bowl is 19cm = 7.5 inches. The bowl is in excellent condition. Some slight dings but overall very good condition. In some photos you can see slight cracks around the bowl nearer to the base. This is the join around the bowl.
The bowl is watertight and will hold water with leaking. Please see the photos shown above.
